Prototyping week 2
Hi fellow Game Dev's and Game enthousiasts,
Welcome to our second devlog!
This week we concentrated our efforts on adding some fun ways to annoy your friends. Letting them trip over a rope or straight on tackle them both seemed like good options.
Simple item pick-ups and power-ups where the next thing we tackled. And finally we added some (placeholder) props to give some sense of scale and a first test of how it would work with the crumbling island.
Tackling & Sliding:
The non-taggers can now tackle anyone to let them fall/slow them down or just to annoy them.
Power-ups:
Giant Mushroom
The tagger can pickup the mushroom to enlarge his size.
(Hitboxes also scale with the player)
Rope
Can be picked up by two players to let other players trip over it.
The other players can try to jump over the rope to prevent tripping.
Bumping into environmental meshes
The player will now fall when he bumps into one of the environmental meshes.
And finally we did a styletest to get an idea how everything will look and specifically what the workflow will be to make props this way. We went for a workflow where most of the details are modeled into the prop instead of painted into the texture. This gives a nice stylized look while keeping it quick and efficient.
What do you guys think about our new features and artstyle? Let us know!
See you all next week!
